A night under the sky of the borders of Karnataka

Image
Somewhere on the borders of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, lying below the sky on top of a public Transport bus, there I was counting the stars and wondering whether it can get anymore beautiful. The Borders of Tamil Nadu are closed between 9 P.m to 6 a.m. It was 7 p.m and we were already running late to catch the last Ooty bus. I was hellbent on not staying back. We had almost exhausted all options looking for the last vehicle to reach Ooty, as no driver was ready to leave for Ooty at night. After roaming around for a while we finally reached the Bangalore bus stop and booked the last S.O.T.C bus to Ooty. We booked the tickets and left for Ooty. As we were so tired from travelling for the entire day in Bangalore we dozed off in the bus. The bus driver switched off all lights and almost everyone dozed off. The clock hit 12 p.m, it was getting hot as I tried to open the window of the bus, I realized the bus is not moving. I came out and was shocked to see the driver and 3,4 other buses and

GOA

My eyes were strained, my back hurt from sitting at the same position for hours, I checked the time..it was  1 am, and I was hella tired. I was working on a project since past 7 hrs. I turned off my laptop knuckled all my body and crashed on my couch. Within 5 minutes I was fast asleep.it was past an hour and my phone started ringing. As i tried to struggle with my eyes to burst on the person who was disturbing my sleep this late, it stopped ringing. I checked the time, it was 2:30 am. I noticed I had 5 missed calls and a message. As I read the message it freaked me out, it was from one of my friend saying "bhai, Karan ka accident hogaya hai,we are going to to the hospital." Before I could react I heard a car honking, I looked out of the window and it was my friend asking me to come down. I went to the washroom, washed my face and left, not noticing that I was in a sleeveless t-shirt and shorts. I asked my friend "what's going on? what happened to Karan?" to wh

The edge of India

The feeling of fresh air on my face and the wind blowing through my hair. The sea lapped gently against the shore as I stood there thinking of the time when the idea of visiting this place first came in my mind. It was a day just like any other, I was in the lecture with no idea what the teacher was talking about. After a while sir asked us to make a list, a list of thing's we want when we grow up. When we were done writing he asked us to read. My friends started reading. Some had very high expectations while some were very inappropriate like two French girlfriends. when my turn came I stood up and started reading. The place grew quieter, when I was done reading everybody starred at me with a confused look. Sir asked why did I write this to which i replied "These are the names of places, the places I want to visit when I grow up".                                            And there I was 6 years later standing at the very place which was first on my list - 'Kanyaku

The beautiful harmandir sahib

I don't normally get excited over temple's but the golden temple is not like any other temple. The people in the temple worked for free. The healing sounds of the temple made me relaxed. Built in 1577, the temples dome is made of 750 kg of pure gold, it represents an inverted lotus flower, a symbol of Sikh devotees. The architecture of the temple is a blend of Islamic and Hindu styles. The temple provided food to all the people who visited. As I was coming out of the temple, there was no beggar outside..which made think of all the temple's i had visited till now. When I went to get my shoes i thanked the guy, and all he said was "don't thank me, its the lord's work, just pray". I left the place with a sense of love for the people, people who did all the work in the temple without any expectations of getting anything back.
